Volcano Project Rubric

Project Completion Date is Friday, April 21st@ 9:00am on the Grahamwood Playground (weather permitting; all parents welcome)

- 3-5 students per group. (20 points) __________________

- Each group will research, design, and produce their own volcano model. Must show evidence. (80 points)_______________

- Each group will create a model of their volcano on white copy paper showing dimensions, labels, color, etc.  (50 points)

- Each group will successfully erupt their model on the Grahamwood playground. (100 points) _________________

- Each student will contribute supplies, knowledge, or hard work to the group’s volcano project. (50 points) ___________________

- Each student will submit a paper describing A) The process(es) that cause volcanoes to form/erupt. B) The process that your group went through to complete the project. C) Your reflection on the work your group did together. Yes, spelling and grammar matter! There is almost never a time in your academic life when they do not. (150 points)_________________

Mr. Emerson will provide a rigorous, creative and enjoyable environment in which to complete this project. All other supplies are the responsibility of the student groups. Groups may need to meet outside of school. If that is not possible, after school time will be made available.
